Caves of Qud Diaspora expansion enters early access December 9

Freehold Games will release the Diaspora expansion into early access on December 9. The DLC adds the ability to start playthroughs as animals and plants, including trees, dogs, frogs, and chameleons. According to Freehold Games, this adds new mutations such as tails and muzzles. Kitfox says the expansion includes new creatures and artifacts, and allows players to mount saltback tortoise steeds.

Freehold Games says the early access period allows the community to stress test complex systems. Plans for 2027 include new factions, underground villages, and a questline involving a dromad named Je'ome the Bounty. More details are available at Rock Paper Shotgun and PC Gamer.
