GTA 6 was originally planned to span North and South America

Bloomberg reports that Rockstar originally envisioned GTA 6 covering large areas of North and South America. The project used the codename Project Americas when planning began in Miami in 2015. Rockstar later reduced the scope to focus on Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida. This map is 3X larger than the map in Red Dead Redemption II.
