Valve adds customizable screensavers to Steam Big Picture Mode

Valve updated the Steam client on October 14. The update brings customizable screensavers to Big Picture Mode for all users. The default setting shows art from recent games and screenshots. Users can now select a retro bouncing logo that mimics old DVD players.

The update also includes unspecified startup performance improvements and a new experimental Pyrowave video codec for Remote Play. Valve claims this codec allows for low latency and high bandwidth streaming. Linux users received various fixes. Read the full update notes via PC Gamer.
