A new tool called HelixSR allows AMD GPUs to use DLSS 3.7 by tricking games into thinking FSR 3.1 is active.
HelixSR replaces the FSR 3.1 upscaling algorithm with DLSS 3.7 Model E. It uses standard shader cores because AMD GPUs lack Tensor cores. PC Gamer tested the tool on an RX 9070 XT at 1440p in Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2.
The tool primarily benefits RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 cards that cannot use FSR 4. PC Gamer reports that image quality improves slightly on thin edges, but performance drops. In Cyberpunk 2077, average FPS fell from 190 to 189 in Quality mode and from 208 to 198 in Performance mode. For more details on installation, visit PC Gamer.
