Modder tests leaked DLSS 5 on QuakeImage: Tom's Hardware

TL;DR

Valery Kryzhanovsky used a leaked DLSS 5 build to apply AI upscaling to the 1996 version of Quake.

Modder Valery Kryzhanovsky applied a leaked build of DLSS 5 to Quake via ReShade and RenoDX. The effect runs as a post-process on the DOSBox rendered frame rather than integrating into the game engine. Kryzhanovsky used 4x Multipass to enhance the image, but the results are poor. The output is heavily darkened, which Kryzhanovsky attributes to an undertrained build. This follows previous experiments where the modder applied DLSS 5 to 2D titles like Pac-Man.
