Rockstar reveals GTA VI began as Project Americas

Rockstar told Bloomberg the game was originally codenamed Project Americas. The initial vision included big swaths of land across North and South America. This scope was later reduced to Miami and surrounding areas. The project was delayed several years to allow for the development of Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar also noted that company size grew from 2,441 to 4,711 employees across 12 offices during this period. Read more at KitGuru and Eurogamer.
