TL;DR

Former Disco Elysium developers are letting players who buy their products buy into a 5 percent stake in the studio.

Former Disco Elysium developers founded a new studio called Summer Eternal. They are developing an isometric RPG that uses immersive sim elements. The studio is using a collective ownership model. Players who purchase studio products, including a 500 page Anthology book, can join a Players Non-Profit.

This non-profit owns a 5 percent share of the studio. The remaining 95 percent is split between freelancers, full-time workers, and investors. Membership allows players to join a board and summon a general Assembly to discuss game development. Summer Eternal says the non-profit provides transparency and a way for players to intercept studio decisions.
