Memtest86+ v9.00 adds ARM64 support and DDR5 tests

TL;DR

The open-source memory tester now runs on ARM64 hardware and includes a new DDR5 bus stress test. Developers say version 9.00 also saves reports to USB and speeds up fault detection.

Memtest86+ v9.00 arrives with a port to ARM64 hardware, verified on Snapdragon X laptops alongside Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 devices. Developers redesigned the test suite around a faster time to first fault, adding 128-bit and 256-bit vector tests using SSE2, AVX2, NEON, and LASX architectures.

The release introduces a DDR5 bus stress test and a RowHammer check as Test 11, which stays disabled by default. Version 9.00 also checks SPD data at startup, falls back to DMI tables when needed, and recognizes over 100 new DRAM brands alongside Intel Wildcat Lake support. Users can save test reports directly to FAT32 USB drives. Secure Boot needs manual key setup or deactivation because the project signs the files itself.
