TSMC 2-nm process reaches 8 percent of wafer revenue in Q3

TL;DR

TSMC shares rising profits and revenue for the third quarter, as its 2-nm node secures eight percent of wafer earnings.

TSMC published its third-quarter financial results, reporting US$46.72 billion in revenue alongside NT$763.06 billion in net income. TSMC notes that local currency revenue grew 50.9 percent year over year, and net income jumped 68.7 percent. The 2-nm node generates eight percent of total wafer income. Established nodes at 7 nm and below combine for 79 percent of total wafer revenue. TSMC builds the 2-nm generation using gate-all-around nanosheet transistors to control electrical current more precisely than older FinFET designs. For the final quarter, TSMC projects revenue from US$52.3 billion to US$54.3 billion, with a gross margin of 65 to 67 percent.
