Pocketpair says new Pals must be memorable to players

Pocketpair aims to add new Pals to Palworld in a meaningful way rather than targeting a specific number for updates. John “Bucky” Buckley, the studio’s Head of Publishing and Communications, says every Pal should have a reason for players to remember it. This could include its design, abilities, combat role, personality, work suitability, or even something funny or strange.

There are currently over 280 Pals in the game. Buckley says balancing the roster becomes more complicated as it grows, so the studio looks at player data and feedback every time they release new Pals. Pocketpair also says maximizing revenue is not what drives their creative decisions for Palworld spinoffs.
