TL;DR
AMD GAIA 0.25 includes usability updates and reduced dependencies for local AI agents on Ryzen AI hardware.
AMD GAIA 0.25 arrived this week, offering updates for developers building artificial intelligence assistants. The Python environment on Windows is now approximately 0.1 GB, down from approximately 0.9 GB, following the removal of unnecessary dependencies.
The gaia chat command now defaults to the flagship GAIA agent. The gaia talk feature now utilizes a server tool designed by AMD, using Whisper and kokoro-v1 for handling audio.
The update also fixes memory problems on computers equipped with sixteen gigabytes of memory. Earlier, the program crashed due to memory exhaustion during initial startup, while later attempts succeeded. The software currently evaluates unused memory prior to model loading to adjust the context window size accordingly. This version also includes optimizations for AMD Strix Halo.
