Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack released the free Rotten Autumn update for Mortal Shell 2 on October 20, 2026. The seasonal patch adds 15 new dungeons to the soulslike action RPG, pushing the total count past 60.
The update introduces Photo Mode alongside Overkill graphics settings and Nightmode lighting presets. Players can alter the appearance of warrior Shells using new color schemes called Shell Shades. Ten new Tarstones enter the loot pool to grant passive effects, including an item that transforms the player character into a sheep. Developers confirm that no dedicated sheep dungeon exists for the transformation.
Cosmetic additions include a Harbinger Pumpkin Helmet and an Impervious skin for the lute. The patch also delivers an alternative soundtrack alongside new background tracks. Mortal Shell 2 is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title removes stamina limits, enabling users to link moves freely while concentrating on breaking enemy posture. Developers tease that more updates are on the way.
