Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is a new entry in the sports series and is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. The game features 12 sports, including five returning from the 2022 Nintendo Switch Sports title: Tennis, Bowling, Volleyball, Golf, and Basketball. It also includes four sports from Wii Sports Resort: Archery, Table Tennis, Power Cruising, and Prop Plane. Three additional events are included: Skateboarding, Thumb Wrestling, and Prop Plane, which is a renamed version of Air Sports.

The game runs at 4K resolution when used in TV mode. Skateboarding specifically utilizes the mouse controls available on the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con. While the original sports training minigames have been removed, the game now provides an interactive tutorial at the start.

Several gameplay updates have been implemented for returning events. Golf now includes a 9-hole Special course alongside the existing Classic and Resort courses. Archery features four difficulty levels based on location: Plaza, Beach, Plains, and Mountains. Boxing has moved to Wuhu Island and features a Punch Gauge that depletes during swings and refills when the player stands still. Bowling brings back the 100-pin mode from the Wii era.
