ASUS says the ZenWiFi BN12 mesh system is now shipping. The tri-band router uses WiFi 8 technology to deliver speeds of up to 19 Gbps. ASUS claims the system focuses on ultra-high reliability and consistent performance at mid-to-long range rather than just peak speeds.
The hardware includes two 10G Ethernet ports and three 2.5G Ethernet ports. A two-pack configuration provides coverage for up to 7,000 square feet according to ASUS. The system uses Smart AiMesh for node coordination and backhaul performance. It also features Adaptive QoE to adjust network resources based on real-time traffic, and WiFi Insight for interference detection and network visualization.
ASUS says the BN12 includes several security features, including AiProtection, security scanning, Safe Browsing, Triple DNS Guard, parental controls, and VPN support. The WiFi 8 implementation uses Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) rates, Unequal Modulation (UEQM), Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA), and Multi-Access Point Coordination.
