Chaos Zero Nightmare anniversary update adds Rossweisse and free rewards

Smilegate has released an anniversary update for Chaos Zero Nightmare, adding Season 5 of Galactic Disaster, titled A Promise Upon the Snow. The update introduces a new Justice Attribute Striker named Rossweisse. Her combat mechanic uses a Flicker Blade card that splits into Shard: Light and Shard: Dark, which can combine into one card under certain conditions. Players can also access her backstory through a new Trauma Code.

The update adds several systems, including a Card Skin system for changing combatant illustrations and Special-grade Attire that provides alternate appearances and voice lines. Partners now have an Exploration Passive system providing party-wide buffs, with four-star Partners receiving two passive effects and five-star Partners receiving three. A new Supply Store in the Celestial Bulwark area allows players to exchange earned currency for growth materials and character acquisition currency.

To celebrate the first anniversary, the Nightmare Carnival event runs until December 2, 2026. Smilegate is offering 10 free Rescues per day for seven days, totaling 70. Login rewards include 1,600 Crystals and a five-star Combatant/Partner Selection Ticket. A Nightmare Dream Park minigame is also available from October 21 through December 23, 2026, where players manage facilities to earn revenue. Smilegate plans an offline charity project tied to the minigame to assist youths experiencing food scarcity.
