Keychron has released the J3 SE, a 99-key wireless mechanical keyboard with a 96% layout. The device costs $129.99 on the Keychron website. It comes in two colorways: Pink, which uses white, light pink, and salmon pink keycaps, and Pink Blue, which uses white, pink, and blue keycaps. Both versions use double-shot PBT keycaps in an MDA profile.

The keyboard features an ABS case with an FR4 positioning plate and multiple sound-dampening layers. It includes hot-swappable PCB sockets and north-facing RGB backlighting. Keychron provides Sakura Milk linear switches, which have POM stems and top housings. These switches have a 35 gf actuation force, 3.6 mm of total travel, and a 2 mm actuation distance. Keychron notes these switches may feel slightly more scratchy at first.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, and USB Type-C wired mode. Both the 2.4 GHz and wired modes operate at a 1,000 Hz polling rate. The internal 4,000 mAh battery provides up to 2,000 hours of use, while running for 106 hours with RGB enabled. Keychron says the battery lasts 106 hours with RGB enabled at the lowest brightness. Users can adjust typing angles to 4.5°, 6.4°, or 8.7° using two-stage flip out feet. Customization is handled via QMK firmware through the Keychron Launcher web app.
