RPCS3 reports that 80.02% of PlayStation 3 games are now rated as playable on PC. The number of playable titles has grown from 2558 in January to 2855. During that same period, the number of games listed as loadable or intro titles dropped from 104 to 25.
The emulator reached these numbers through improvements to CPU and GPU accuracy, as well as better emulation for USB Microphones and PlayStation Move accessories. RPCS3 also runs faster than previous versions.
A game must run faster than the original console using suggested hardware to earn this status. Games that run without crashing but fail to meet these performance standards are not rated playable. For example, Insomniac Games' Ratchet and Clank titles run without crashing but remain unrated because they do not hit PS3 framerates on recommended hardware. Players can also use performance-improving patches, such as "Disable SPU MLAA," or more powerful PC hardware to improve playability.
