Gaijin is reworking the Constantly Computed Release Point (CCRP) bombing controls in the next major update for War Thunder. The developer states this update is needed since players now rely heavily on CCRP to carry out nuclear strikes in the Nuclear Escalation mode.

The new system removes the requirement to hold down a release button and prevents the mechanic from interfering with standard manual bomb release. Gaijin says the updated interface uses an uncluttered display with an auto-release indicator positioned within the battlefield view to avoid obstructing visibility. The system also works during level flight, dives, and pull-up maneuvers.

To use the system, players designate a target with the "Activate Point of Interest" button, which defaults to Alt + Middle Mouse Button or a minimap click. A red targeting box and a vertical arrow appear at the location to show the required heading, current deviation, and time remaining until the target. Gaijin says the indicator turns green when the course is correct, but the system will not automatically release the bomb if the heading deviation is significant. Players can manage bomb types and quantities using the weapon selector (Caps Lock or Left Shift + S) and the quantity selector (default Left Shift + B).
