Warframe Riven mod rework arrives October 22

Digital Extremes is reworking the Riven mod system in a Warframe update on October 22. The developer says the change aims to encourage build diversity and improve accessibility for new players.

The update removes Riven dispositions entirely. Digital Extremes says all Riven mods will reset to new base values that represent a 1.2 disposition in the previous system. This means new weapons will have powerful mods available immediately, though existing Riven mods may see significant swings in viability.

The rework also caps ammo efficiency at 75% for most weapons, with a few temporary exceptions. Digital Extremes says this cap means the best-case scenario for a weapon is consuming one ammo every four shots.

To offset the impact on builds that relied on specific mods for high damage, Digital Extremes says all players will receive an inbox reward. Players who used the Riven Splicers and Trait locking introduced earlier in 2026 will receive double the rewards.
