Wonder Interactive launches Strata AI tool for browser Unreal games

TL;DR

Wonder Interactive released Strata, an AI developer tool that converts Unreal Engine projects into browser-playable links using WebAssembly and WebGPU.

Wonder Interactive released Strata, an AI-driven development tool designed to turn Unreal Engine projects into playable browser links. Alex St. Louis, cofounder and COO, says the platform aims to let studios distribute demos and run playtests without requiring a traditional game client download.

The system operates through natural-language prompts using AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor via MCP, or through a command line interface on macOS, Linux, and Windows. Once a developer submits a project, Strata builds it against a browser-compatible Unreal Engine runtime, verifies it on a cloud GPU, and generates a shareable URL.

The WebGPU renderer supports Lumen and Nanite. Wonder Interactive demonstrated the system using Epic Games' City Sample, where players download about 3% of the environment data before the rest streams in during movement. Strata is available now alongside the company's SimplyStream platform.
