TL;DR

A teardown of the new Nintendo Switch 2 model (OSM-CPU-01) found no display upgrades despite rumors of a new Sharp screen.

A teardown of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware revision by technician Modyfikator89 shows the console has not received a display upgrade. The technician compared the original BEE-CPU-01 model to the new OSM-CPU-01 model and found no evidence of the Sharp display previously rumored by ninpatentswatch. The investigation is ongoing as the technician collects serial number prefixes and panel markings to see if display differences exist between production batches.

The revised hardware includes a different motherboard, a different fan variant, and 12GB of RAM from a different supplier, though the NVIDIA chip remains unchanged. The new model features a user-replaceable battery to comply with European regulations. This new battery has a capacity of 5,172mAh, which is 48mAh less than the 5,220mAh capacity in the launch model. The console is also approximately 14g heavier when Joy-Cons are attached.
