EA plans new shooter from Respawn and DICE

EA says it is focusing its resources on fewer projects to target long-term growth. This strategy includes a new shooter project where Respawn and DICE will collaborate. EA says this initiative aims to build on lessons learned from the Battlefield 6 live-service launch.

The company is also investing in Apex Legends with plans for new multiplayer gameplay modes. In the action-adventure category, EA says it remains committed to the next Star Wars Jedi game and Marvel’s Iron Man.

EA SPORTS is creating Project Gridiron, an open-world American football title featuring social elements, alongside a new Fight Night project, which is currently in pre-production. EA says more information on these and the wider sports portfolio will arrive in the coming months.

Regarding lifestyle titles, EA says it is prioritizing The Sims and skate. Development on Project Evergreen will receive more time, while development on Project Lotus is paused. EA is also restructuring the skate development team into a smaller studio to create a clearer roadmap.
