Microsoft has reportedly given Arkane Lyon until November 13 to find a buyer, putting 217 jobs at risk. Reports indicate that studio management informed employees of the potential shutdown back on July 16. Two trade unions, Printemps Écologique and the STJV, are currently involved in redundancy negotiations scheduled to run until October 30.
Union representatives state that the studio has solid finances and work on Marvel's Blade is almost finished. Unions express fear that the project could be abandoned if a buyer is not secured before the consultation process concludes. Microsoft has not confirmed a final closure. In a statement, the corporation noted it keeps reviewing various choices while working to find collaborators to back the creator.
