Ghost of Yotei · official art via IGDBGhost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch Productions has laid off 26 employees. Reports cite an internal email sent to staff by studio leadership in late October. Management states the staffing reductions stem from market challenges and team needs for the next project.
The cuts follow the release of Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition earlier in October, which includes the Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion. Ghost of Yotei earned over $400 million in revenue during its launch year, finishing 3 percent behind Ghost of Tsushima in launch-aligned revenue. Reports estimate the studio employs roughly 230 people. Two months after the game launch, the studio appointed Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley as new studio heads. Management says more details about the future will be shared the following week.
