Outcast Tales launches free on Steam

Hardlane Studio and publisher Inner Pocket released Outcast Tales on October 27, 2026. The post-apocalyptic tactical RPG is entirely free to play on Steam, with the developers confirming that no paid downloadable content or supporter packs will be offered.

Players build a three-person crew from a roster of wasteland wanderers, combining character classes with assigned personality types. These traits can create unexpected party friction during turn-based tactical battles and exploratory conversations. Hardlane Studio designed the system so that internal crew drama poses just as much of a threat as hostile encounters in the wasteland. Every decision influences the overarching story and shifts team dynamics.

The developers do not plan to sell any extras, asking players to simply download the adventure and leave an honest review.
