Player decisions can influence character development and relationships through paths associated with virtue, called Paladin, or ambition, called Immortal. The game also uses time dilation, meaning a mission lasting a few days can result in decades passing on a player's home planet. Exodus is scheduled to release on April 7, 2027, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
