SEGA has released Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Nintendo Switch 2. The new version offers a 60FPS framerate and higher-quality visuals than the original Switch version. SEGA says the game includes cross-generation support for local and online VS Mode, allowing Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players to battle one another.

The digital Standard Edition costs £34.99 and includes the base game plus two Character Unlock Keys for Academy Rengoku and Academy Uzui. SEGA says existing owners of the game on the original Switch can use a free upgrade pass to get the Switch 2 Edition, whether they own the physical or digital version. This upgrade does not include the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Character Pass, which must be bought separately through the Nintendo eShop. SEGA also confirmed that combined sales for the first game and this sequel have passed six million units worldwide.
