Indie developer Sleepy Amigos has launched a Steam store page and the first trailer for Sink My Bricks, a co-op pirate roguelite previously shown under the working title Shiver My Bricks. Developed by a small group, the project presents an environment where users can smash everything.
Gamers can embark alone or gather a trio of allies to plunder locations, attack foes, and mend their watercraft. The ship functions as the crew's only respawn point, and players can customize existing ships or build new ones from scratch. Combat dispenses with traditional health bars in favor of a system where attacks knock off character limbs. Users may pick up and reconnect these body parts, or substitute them with artificial limbs or beast claws.
Gameplay sessions take roughly sixty minutes, guiding players across three random island groups prior to battling the Flying Dutchman. Between runs, players unlock new weapons, ship upgrades, building parts, and gameplay-altering artifacts. The game is set for an eventual release, and players can wishlist it on Steam.
