Hogwarts Legacy adds DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering on November 5 for RTX 50-series users and GeForce NOW Ultimate.
Hogwarts Legacy is the second official game to support Nvidia DLSS 5, following NBA 2K27. The update, released on November 5, introduces 3D-Guided Neural Rendering to improve lighting, shadows, textures, and reflections in real time.
Hogwarts Legacy · official art via IGDBNvidia explains that the system employs generative artificial intelligence to enhance the game world with more authentic lighting and material textures. To prevent the AI from changing the look of people, Avalanche Software used a feature called Automask. Jose Villeta, Director of Software Engineering at Avalanche Software, says the team worked with Nvidia to tune parameters for environments, tone, and skin to keep the game true to the original artistic vision. This follows previous leaked versions of the technology that reportedly caused criticism for making characters look aged or overly smoothed.
Nvidia claims that an RTX 5090 can reach up to 300 FPS at 4K resolution when DLSS 5, Ray Reconstruction, Raytracing, NVIDIA Reflex, and 6x Multi Frame Generation are all enabled. The company also says an RTX 5080 can achieve over 200 FPS at 4K with those same settings.
DLSS 5 is only available on GeForce RTX 50-series desktop and notebook GPUs, RTX Spark PCs, or via GeForce NOW Ultimate. Older GeForce hardware is not supported. Two other titles are expected to receive DLSS 5 support this month, with War Thunder arriving in mid-November and Where Winds Meet arriving on November 23.
