TL;DR

Reports say Sony issued a legal warning to the creator of Overdrive, an unofficial storefront offering roughly 1600 games for modified PS5 consoles. Cloned repositories are already appearing online.

Reports say the unofficial PlayStation 5 storefront known as Overdrive was pulled offline after its developer received a legal warning from Sony. The project featured an interface mimicking the official store and provided access to roughly 1600 titles. It relied on the Relapse exploit chain, using a browser vulnerability and a kernel flaw to function on system software versions 7.00 to 13.60. Sony patched this security hole in firmware version 14.00. Following a viral social media post reaching close to 10 million views, the original repository was removed. Multiple forks and clones are already appearing under new hosts, while developers integrate the interface code into other homebrew suites.
