OverkillLabs3 released a fan-made native PC port of DriveClub that supports up to 8K resolution and unlocked frame rates.
Driveclub · official art via IGDBOverkillLabs3 has released DriveClub Recomp, a fan-made native PC port of the 2014 PS4 racer. This project does not use CPU emulation. Instead, the game's x86-64 code runs directly on a PC processor while the port reimplements PS4 system libraries and translates GPU commands to Vulkan. Users must provide their own dump of game version 1.28 to use it.
The port supports resolutions from 720p to 8K and ultrawide displays. It features an unlocked frame rate that does not speed up the game. For anti-aliasing, the project uses NVIDIA DLAA on RTX cards or AMD FSR 3.1 on any GPU at native resolution. RTX owners can swap between these options using the F10 key.
OverkillLabs3 says the game holds about 60 FPS at 4K during heavy scenes on an RTX 5070 Ti and a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The v0.2.3 update reportedly increased one 4K test race from roughly 62 to 71 FPS.
The project is still rough. OverkillLabs3 notes that lighting issues can occur with reflections, compilation happens during the initial startup, and online features are currently disabled. Slower processors may drop frames in busy scenes. Testing has been limited to NVIDIA hardware up to this point. An alternative project called DCport created by qnfn is additionally in development supporting FSR 3.1 and FSR 4.
