Saros · official art via IGDBHousemarque has released the Zenith update for Saros on October 19. The 3.5 GB update brings the game to version 2.0 and is free for all owners.
The update introduces Eclipse Layers, a New Game+ mode unlocked after finishing the main campaign. Players access this mode through the Armor Matrix in Passage to play more intense versions of the game with altered rules. Users must equip specific Carcosan Modifiers to satisfy a required challenge level before entering these layers. Fans can pick from 25 total Trial Modifiers, including 10 brand new additions. The update also adds 10 Protection Modifiers. Using more Trial Modifiers causes the character Arjun to wear a larger golden crown, which also determines access to story text within 12 collectible Visions.
A new boss rush mode called Overlord Rush is available through the Primary Unit in Passage. It includes online leaderboards that can be filtered by main weapon. The mode contains the Incursion and Ascension sets, which each feature three Overlords and take about 10 minutes to complete. The Totality set requires defeating eight Overlords consecutively.
New accessibility features include Motion Sensor Aiming, auto-fire, and Slow Game Speed. The slowdown option allows players to adjust the speed manually or automatically without removing projectiles or changing enemy attack patterns. While auto-fire handles weapon discharge, reloading remains a manual process. New trophies are also included in the update.
