TL;DR

Two pallets of Zotac RTX 5090 GPUs worth approximately $470,000 disappeared from Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil, according to reports.

Two pallets of Zotac RTX 5090 graphics cards worth a declared value of $470,000 have reportedly vanished from Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, Brazil. Reports say the pallets passed through customs upon arrival but disappeared from radar while on the airport premises. The shipment is estimated to contain at least 63 graphics cards.

Oderço Matos, the president of the distributor Oderço, says the company has been importing since 2008 and this is the first time such an incident has occurred. An inquiry is currently under investigation to determine if the disappearance was due to theft or a handling error. Authorities at the airport and local law enforcement have declined to comment, while neither Nvidia nor Zotac has issued a statement.

The loss comes amid high market values for the GPU. While the RTX 5090 has an MSRP of $2,000, reports say retail prices currently range from $8,000 to over $10,000. In Brazil, the average retail price for the card is between 33,000 and 39,000 reais.
