TL;DR

Microsoft is testing a new Gaming Task View for Xbox mode that adds controller-accessible power options and a new Battery Status widget for Windows 11 Insiders.

Microsoft is testing two new features for Windows 11 Insiders to improve controller usability and power monitoring. The company is updating the Gaming Task View in Xbox mode with a navigation bar that provides access to Exit to Desktop and Power Options. This menu includes Lock, Sign out, Shut down, and Restart. In Xbox mode, users can move between open apps shown as large cards using the LB and RB buttons. This update arrived on October 16 for Insiders in the Experimental channel with build 26340.9750 and in the Beta channel with build 26220.9739.

Microsoft is also testing a Battery Status widget that appears on the lock screen and the Widgets board. The widget provides a view of battery levels for the PC and connected peripheral devices. Microsoft has not published a list of which specific devices are supported. This widget first appeared in build 26340.9616 on October 7. Microsoft is releasing these updates in phases to testers.
