Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United set for February 16, 2027 release

Square Enix shared new details for Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United, including information on companions, combat mechanics, and equipment crafting. The game is scheduled to launch on February 16, 2027, for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The update introduced five recruitable companions: the Minstrel, Tatyana, Nora, Muse, and Charl. Players can also find Mr. S in various locations to collect stickers. Collecting five stickers grants boons such as faster workshop forges or revealing undiscovered chests on the map.

New combat systems include battle formations, such as Triple Incisors and Rampaging Mammoth. A Ley Lines mechanic allows spells that match the battlefield's active element to receive a power boost, while opposing elements can shift the attunement. Characters can equip up to two weapons at once. Using more defensive gear increases Defense but raises encumberment, which can affect a character's Speed. Players can also raise weapon type and spell school levels by using them in battle.

The Pidona Workshop allows players to forge and reforge equipment using aurums and materials. The workshop expands and offers more items as players locate smiths scattered across the world. Increasing a player's Renown rank through quests grants perks like extra ability slots and expanded United Attacks.

Purchasing the premium digital bundle grants extra outfits, gear pieces, fighting arrangements, and digital items. Customers who secure their copy ahead of the debut date unlock up to three days of early play. Advance buyers also receive a special trinket bundle. In addition, the publisher shared that a previous series entry achieved more than one million sales following its debut.
