Xbox Series X|S physical games reportedly shipping with upside down covers
TL;DR
Reports say Xbox Series X|S physical game covers are arriving upside down, and a retailer claims Microsoft plans to remove shrink wrap from physical games heading into 2027.
Online posters BirdDogGaming, statesminds, and thompson_buddy posted images displaying Xbox Series X|S physical game covers arriving upside down. These cases also have the disc located on the right side instead of the left. Reports say flipping the internal paper slip should correct the orientation.
The retailer PNP Games says it has started receiving physical Xbox Series X|S games from official distributors that lack shrink wrap and instead use a paper seal. According to PNP Games, Microsoft intends to ship physical copies this way heading into 2027. The seller also stated that Microsoft warned of these upcoming policies earlier this year, leading to a canceled reprint because wrapping was omitted.
