By One Percent Lows

TL;DR

The BeamNG.Earth mod for BeamNG.drive recreates the planet at a 1:1 scale using real-world data.

A new mod called BeamNG.Earth is available for BeamNG.drive. It recreates the Earth at a 1:1 scale utilizing geographic information, satellite pictures, and cartography to procedurally generate roads, structures, bridges, walkways, and plants. Players can search for specific countries, cities, streets, or addresses to teleport to a destination or use GPS to chart a course.

The mod includes AI traffic, parked cars, and an autopilot feature that follows routes while obeying traffic laws. Current meteorological conditions and atmospheric timing can match actual environmental factors where players choose, or users can modify them by hand. The mod also includes airports, mountains, rivers, and lakes, which allows for flight simulation if aircraft mods are installed.

BeamNG.Earth is in beta. An active web connection is necessary since scenery renders dynamically during exploration. Previously explored areas save locally so they load quicker upon subsequent visits.
