By One Percent Lows

TL;DR

GTA 6 is reported to have a 210 GB download size on PS5, with preloading starting November 12 ahead of its November 19 launch.

GTA 6 is reported to require 210 GB of storage on PS5, according to PlayStation Game Size. The Xbox Store currently shows only an approximate placeholder figure for its download size. Preloading begins on November 12, 2026, one week before the November 19 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Files downloaded during the preload period remain locked until the official release time in each region.

Storefront entries on the PlayStation 5 indicate the title becomes playable at midnight in each respective area. In the US, the game unlocks at midnight Eastern time for the whole country. For PS5 players, the unlock time is determined by the PSN account region rather than physical location. Microsoft has not provided a staggered timetable for Xbox owners.

The game is available in two editions. The Standard Edition costs $79.99. The Ultimate Edition costs $20 more. Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus if purchased before November 20. This pack includes a 1955 Vapid Stanier, vintage outfits, hairstyles, and weapon finishes. Purchasing the game digitally ahead of launch also grants a single month of GTA+.

The PlayStation Store lists the game as "PS5 Pro Enhanced," though Rockstar and Sony have not specified if this includes higher resolution, better ray tracing, or improved frame rates. Digital Foundry estimates the Xbox Series X version will perform similarly to the PS5, while the Xbox Series S may run at approximately 720p due to its 10 GB of memory. Rockstar has not announced a release date for a PC version.

Background In October, Sensor Tower estimated that digital pre-orders for the game reached 6.45 million. Our earlier story
