GTA 6 digital pre-orders reach 6.45 million according to Sensor Tower
TL;DR
Sensor Tower estimates GTA 6 has reached 6.45 million digital pre-orders, generating roughly $630 million in revenue. PlayStation accounts for 74% of these estimated sales.
Sensor Tower calculates that global digital pre-orders for GTA 6 have hit 6.45 million, generating an approximate value of $630 million after returns. PlayStation holds a 74% share of these estimates, totaling about 4.80 million copies and $468 million. Xbox accounts for 1.66 million copies and $162 million.
These figures include an increase of about 370,000 pre-orders since the October 13 update. In the US, Sensor Tower says digital pre-orders for the game are 148% ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) at the same point before launch. Sensor Tower says the vast majority of buyers chose the $100 Ultimate Edition, which aligns with August comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick that pre-orders were skewing toward that version.
These are third-party estimates for digital copies only, and Take-Two has not confirmed these figures. Sensor Tower changed its estimation model on October 5, so older data from the tracker cannot be used for a direct comparison. GTA 6 launches November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
