TL;DR

KAT VR's KAT Walk C3 Ultra treadmill adds physical backward walking, a larger platform, and haptic shoes.

KAT VR released the KAT Walk C3 Ultra omnidirectional VR treadmill on October 27. The flagship hardware introduces physical backward walking through a mechanical safety lock. Players lean back to engage the lock and step backward without using a thumbstick, while leaning forward releases it.

The platform is 15 percent larger than the previous KAT Walk C2 model, and KAT VR says the jump and crouch range is 62.85 percent greater. Walking friction adjusts on the fly, and a new Sit Module supports seated sessions. Optical tracking and upgraded processing bring latency down to as low as 5ms, according to the company. Magnetic sensors charge via USB-C.

The Power Edition includes built-in charging ports with an integrated power delivery chip to remove external battery packs during long sessions. The new C3 Haptics Shoes place vibration motors in the soles to sync with the treadmill base and controllers. A KAT Quest Adapter adds an RJ-45 port and three USB-A ports for standalone Meta Quest use without a PC, supporting more than 100 games according to KAT VR.

The treadmill is available through Amazon. One hundred units are designated for immediate shipping following randomized selection, and all remaining orders will ship by mid-November.
