TL;DR

Creative Assembly says Alien: Isolation 2 will include a photo mode and more intelligent Xenomorph AI that uses weather to hide its movements.

Creative Assembly shared new details about Alien: Isolation 2 during a video Q&A on October 28. The developers say the Xenomorph will be more intelligent and react better to the player. The creature will learn new things and change its behavior during each encounter so players cannot rely on the same tricks used previously. Unlike the first game, the alien will hunt players in outdoor environments. Creative Assembly says the Xenomorph will use weather to hide its movements and will not stop hunting when players move outside. If a player has a microphone enabled, the Xenomorph may also pick up noises like breathing or voices to find them, according to reports.

The sequel will feature a photo mode that includes settings for brightness, exposure, saturation, soft light intensity, depth of field, and focal lengths. To help with the dark environments, players can place lights in the world. Creative Assembly also mentioned planned customization options like logos, patches, stickers, frames, and words.

Alien: Isolation 2 is planned for a 2027 release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The studio confirmed the game will have a physical disc release. While players asked if they could pet the alien, the Q&A topics did not confirm this feature.
