TL;DR
Tabletop Tavern's The Rift of Magic update adds 30 spells, new game modes, and Steam Deck support.
Tabletop Tavern received its first major content update, The Rift of Magic, on October 28. The developers say the update adds 30 spells to the medieval RTS roguelite and introduces a spellcasting system where players can bring up to three spells into battle. Mana does not replenish during a fight. Every faction now has a recruitable mage, and players can unlock 16 signature spells for individual heroes to use in future runs.
New gameplay options include Daily Runs with global and friends leaderboards, and an Endless Mode that becomes available after completing Act III. The developers say Endless Mode features no healing or troop recruitment. The update also adds 14 new events and story chains, 75 achievements, and a photo mode. Players can use Steam Deck controls or access custom unit models via expanded Steam Workshop mod support. The developers also say the update improves performance, enemy battle AI, and charge mechanics.
