TL;DR

Audio-Technica launched the ATH-M50xSTS-WL StreamSet wireless headset for $299, featuring 24 hours of battery life and a cardioid condenser microphone.

Audio-Technica released the ATH-M50xSTS-WL StreamSet wireless headset in the United States on October 28, 2026, for $299. This is the first wireless model in the StreamSet lineup. The unit relies on 45mm drivers equipped with rare-earth magnets and aluminum voice coils.

The headset connects via a 2.4GHz wireless signal using an included USB transceiver. This connection provides a wireless range of approximately 10 meters under line-of-sight conditions. Users can also use the headset in a wired mode via USB-C. The package includes a USB-A-to-USB-C adapter, a 2-meter USB cable, and two sets of interchangeable earpads. The wireless electronics and battery increase the weight to approximately 365g.

For voice, the headset uses a cardioid condenser microphone based on Audio-Technica's 20 Series. It features a flexible boom arm that mutes the microphone when flipped upward and includes sidetone monitoring. The device also has two levels of adaptive microphone noise reduction to suppress background sounds like PC fans. Audio-Technica says this feature only affects the microphone and does not apply to headphone playback. The digital audio specifications are 48kHz sampling, 24-bit input, and 16-bit output.

The battery provides up to 24 hours of use and takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully recharge. The included USB cable allows for wired audio operation while charging. There is no Bluetooth or 3.5mm analog connection on this model.
