Leopard 2A8 coming to War Thunder in mid-November update

Gaijin Entertainment is adding the Leopard 2A8 tank to War Thunder in the Eagle's Shadow update, which arrives in mid-November. The tank will be available for Germany and Sweden at Rank VIII. The Swedish version will use the configuration intended for the Norwegian Army.

The Leopard 2A8 features the Israeli Trophy active protection system, which uses six charges to intercept guided missiles from ground vehicles or aircraft. Other specifications include GEN 3 thermal imagers and DM53 APFSDS ammunition. The vehicle has additional frontal hull armor, an internal spall liner, and extra composite armor modules on the sides. Despite having heavier protection, developers note the vehicle is slightly less agile than older models. Vehicle specifications may change before the update is added to the game.
