Rockstar Games says players can decide if the GTA 6 protagonists, Jason and Lucia, stay together or break up based on their decisions.
Rockstar Games says players can influence whether the GTA 6 protagonists, Jason and Lucia, remain a romantic couple or separate. The two characters start the game with an existing connection, but players can choose to strengthen their bond or allow the romance to deteriorate.
Rob Nelson, a co-studio head at Rockstar, explained that players can encourage the relationship through interactions like holding hands or responding to personal phone calls. Alternatively, players can keep the pair focused on their criminal partnership or ignore these interactions to damage the relationship. Rockstar says the goal is to give the characters individual motivations and emotional expectations that exist outside of scripted story sequences.
The company has not specified how the plot might be impacted by these choices. Rockstar has not confirmed if a breakup would alter missions, affect gameplay abilities, or unlock alternative endings. GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.
Background In October, developers stated that the closeness between the two protagonists is measured on a four-point scale. Our earlier story
