TL;DR

ASRock Z970 LiveMixer WiFi and Z970 Pro-A WiFi motherboards reportedly shipped from Vietnam at the end of September 2026, according to shipping records.

Shipping and customs records from Vietnam show ASRock Z970 LiveMixer WiFi and Z970 Pro-A WiFi motherboards shipped at the end of September 2026. These represent the first specific model names for ASRock's expected Z970 lineup for Intel's Nova Lake platform.

Leaked specifications suggest the Z970 chipset will support RAM overclocking and CPU multiplier overclocking, but it will lack the base clock (BCLK) tweaking found on Z990 boards. Multiplier overclocking on these boards will require an unlocked processor. According to leaked specs, the Z970 is expected to use a PCIe 5.0 x2 DMI link and provide 14 chipset PCIe 4.0 lanes, whereas the Z990 features a x4 DMI link, 12 chipset PCIe 5.0 lanes, and 12 chipset PCIe 4.0 lanes. The Z970 reportedly supports up to four SATA ports, compared to eight on the Z990.

Intel's Robert Hallock previously stated the company aims to offer more unlocked SKUs and overclocking features to users on lower budgets. While the Z970 may replace much of the market currently used by B860 boards, Intel has not officially announced the Z970 or Z990 chipsets. Nova Lake-S is expected to use the LGA 1954 socket.
