Ruppertle's fan remake of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 is now free to download following an update to Unreal Engine 5.
Ruppertle, the solo developer of the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 fan remake, has released update 1.03. This version moves the project from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. The developer previously released an Unreal Engine 4 beta in November 2025.

Version 1.03 includes four recreated levels from the original game and five survival maps. Players can also access a Sandbox mode, a 3D model viewer, and a bonus testing level.
