Super Channel commissioned the documentary Massive Effect: The BioWare Story, which will premiere at festivals in 2027 and cover the studio's history up to its October 21 closure by EA.

Super Channel has commissioned a documentary titled Massive Effect: The BioWare Story. Shane Fennessey and Adam Scorgie direct the project, and 2027 festival screenings will precede worldwide distribution through UpstreamFlix. Work on the project began about two years ago as a success story, but filming continued through the studio's final days after EA closed BioWare and cancelled Mass Effect: Universe on October 21, 2026. The film features co-founders Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk, and Augustine Yip, alongside several developers from the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.

In response to the closure, fans have launched multiple petitions. A Change.org petition reached 300,000 signatures in approximately two weeks. A separate petition submitted to the Canadian House of Commons on November 4, 2026, aims to have the government fund BioWare so the studio can operate independently of EA. This parliamentary petition has gathered over 2,300 signatures and will remain open until March 4, 2027. To be considered by Parliament, a public petition requires at least 500 signatures. If the government moves forward, it would need to negotiate with EA regarding funding and the transfer of franchise rights.
