On November 7, Sam Hulick shared a different piece of music matching the unauthorized Mass Effect: Universe video. The original video used an edited version of Quartz by French 79. Hulick says the track is a tribute to the original trilogy that experiments with a new sound. He used synthwave for the final combat sequence while keeping the rest aligned with the traditional feel of the series, including nods to the first and third games.
