Octopath Traveler 0 free update arrives around December 2026

Square Enix says a free update for Octopath Traveler 0 is scheduled to release around December 2026. The update will add nine guest characters to Wishvale, consisting of Elliott from The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and the initial group of five-star heroes featured in the mobile title Champions of the Continent.

These guests do not join battles, yet users can obtain unique rewards by talking to them. Square Enix is also adding a new boss to the Monster Arena. The company describes this enemy as the strongest opponent in the arena and says the encounter is balanced as an endgame challenge for players in the later stages of the game. Defeating the boss may provide a special reward, though Square Enix has not revealed what that reward is.
